Penncrest Students Collect Canned Goods

Members of the Penncrest High School HCI Optimist Club, joined by some members of the men's cross country team, spent the day, Nov. 8, outside of the Granite Run Mall Acme Supermarket, collecting canned goods given by generous shoppers. The items will be donated to area food banks and shelters, including Philabundance. Donating their time were (back row) CJ Cassey, Brittney Johnson, Andy Beck, Laura Masse, Nick Tylek; (kneeling in front) Jacki Turet, Mike Roberts, Kevin Gregg, and (in front) HCI Optimist Club Faculty Advisor Bernadette Dacanay. Penncrest is well on its way to meeting its goal of 15,000 cans collected before the Thanksgiving holiday.
