Chick-fil-A ™ is supporting our annual fundraiser, the Power of One Breakfast, being held on May 25th , by donating 20% of the proceeds to HCI when you purchase any item. The money raised will go toward supporting the many outreach programs for our youth through Healthy Communities Initiative (HCI).

Major HCI Events in 2010:
HCI Community Forum
This is a formal discussion and educational opportunity for stakeholders in the community to learn about key issues affecting our youth and how to keep them safe and substance free. Audience is up to 400 parents, professionals, educators and students. Our Forum in 2010 was about a Playbook for Life: Tackling Tough Choices for youth and Parents, especially when it comes to underage drinking. Our celebrity speaker was former Eagles Football Player, Teacher and Coach, Vince Papale.
Power of ONE Breakfast
Tuesday, May 25, 7:30 a.m., at Springhaven Country Club, 600 S. Providence Road, Wallingford.
This is HCI’s annual fundraiser to honor our community asset builders, update stakeholders on accomplishments, and unveil plans for the coming year. It is truly one “hour of power” where you will see, hear and feel the difference one action, one person, one contribution can make in the life of a young person. Audience is 200 Business, Civic, Education and Parent Leaders, plus Students.
HCI Music Festival at Middletown Pride Day
Saturday, May 8 at Williamson Trade School, 106 S. New Middletown Road.
This is a student-planned and implemented event to celebrate cultural diversity through a wide variety of music played by local young people. Last year the event was attended by 2500 adults and youth.
